Out of the Blue
3 Non-Medication Ways to Relieve Depression
*1 Continuing Education (CE) Clock Hour for Behavioral Health Professionals (Home Study Format)
Taught By Bill O'Hanlon
Even though it is one of the most common presenting mental health issues, many clinicians have misguided notions regarding how to effectively address depression. A common belief is that depression is primarily a physiologically-driven caused issue, and that medical interventions will typically be the most effective in resolving symptomology.
But despite this common perception, research currently indicates that social factors and experiences are the greatest indicators for depressive episodes. And more than that, there are many non-medication-based psychotherapy interventions that can have great positive affect in helping individuals find relief.
In this brief training, psychotherapy expert, Bill O’Hanlon, will walk through 3 specific non-medication interventions in addressing depression.
- To explore some of the data regarding rates and causes of depression.
- To challenge some commonly held false beliefs regarding the causes and ideal treatments for depression.
- To review 3 psychotherapeutic frameworks to positively address depression
