Taught By Bill O'Hanlon

You might not know this...but fear has an agenda.

And there are positive aspects of what fear does. For us, and for our ancestors, fear kept us alive by limiting our range.
But what happens when fear is overapplied and/or mislabeled? Well, it usually shrinks our worlds unnecessarily and can compound our experiences of misery and anxiety.
But there are ways to jump these invisible fences of fear.
Join PsychMaven as we host the legendary Bill O'Hanlon, a true revolutionary when it comes to helping others discovering creative solutions and new possibilities. In the mini-course, Bill will look at a way to re-focus on fear that can effectively challenge anxiety and phobias.

Learning Objectives

  1. To look at the practical functionality of fear from an evolutionary standpoint, and it can both helpful and misapplied in people's lives
  2. To explore the 3 strategies that can have positive effect in countering the over extension of the fear response.
  3. To considering case vignettes on how these various strategies can be applied in a counseling and psychotherapy setting.
